Beneath the Surface

For there are dragons
sleeping beneath my skin,
They are in slumber,
snorting fire
as their ground tremors.
But I can feel them waking,
raising their spired heads.
You cannot make me a fool
For it is not something
that my dragons will allow.

One day you will break
my borders
And I will tremble and quake,
Dragons ripped from slumber
Fly forth
and reveal the true dynasty.
Do not push me further
for a dragon nest
Also breathes fire.
